An Inspirational Heritage

The story of Mt Zion Community Reinvestment Corporation dates back to the early 2000s when needs were identified in our community that needed to be addressed. A nonprofit organization provided the best opportunity to better reach out and find resources to meet the needs of the community. The CRC grew to support the Samaritan Clinic for uninsured and underinsured populations and our CAPS tutorial program addresses reading and math readiness for school-aged children as well as tutorial services to help fill educational gaps.

Project refocus
A partnership between Phoebe, CDC Foundation, and Mt Zion CRC to Reimagine Public Health Responses and Resilient Communities. The city of Albany/Dougherty County is one of six communities participating in this project.
COVID-19 has illustrated that public health practitioners need access to data and tools that appropriately identify, respond to, culturally tailor, and reach historically marginalized and/or racialized populations during crises. Project REFOCUS was conceptualized as a collaborative and community-informed effort to address these challenges.
