An Inspirational Heritage

At Mt Zion Community Reinvestment Corporation, our mission is rooted in the values of charity, community, and education. Since our inception in the early 2000s, we have been dedicated to addressing the pressing needs of our community with compassion and innovation. Our story began when we recognized critical gaps in services and resources within our community. By forming a nonprofit organization, we unlocked the potential to connect with and mobilize the necessary support to make a meaningful impact. Over the years, we have expanded our reach and services. Our Samaritan Clinic is a cornerstone of our efforts, providing essential healthcare to uninsured and underinsured populations. Our CAPS tutorial program is designed to foster academic success, offering reading and math readiness for school-aged children and comprehensive tutorial services to bridge educational gaps. In collaboration with the Harlem Renaissance Corporation, we are developing mixed-use projects that celebrate and build upon our rich cultural history. Our efforts aim to blend residential, commercial, and cultural spaces to create vibrant, inclusive communities. We are in the process of becoming a recognized Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). We are committed to providing affordable housing solutions that enhance the quality of life for our residents. At Mt Zion Community Reinvestment Corporation, we are committed to uplifting our community through dedicated service and strategic support. Join us in our journey to create a brighter future for all.

Project refocus
A partnership between Phoebe, CDC Foundation, and Mt Zion CRC to Reimagine Public Health Responses and Resilient Communities. The city of Albany/Dougherty County is one of six communities participating in this project.
COVID-19 has illustrated that public health practitioners need access to data and tools that appropriately identify, respond to, culturally tailor, and reach historically marginalized and/or racialized populations during crises. Project REFOCUS was conceptualized as a collaborative and community-informed effort to address these challenges.
